Technical Details

Genesis aluminium profiles are available in different anodised finishes and powder-coated finishes:

All natural aluminium (mill finish) has an oxide film of approximately 0.2 microns.
Mechanically & chemically polished finishes have an anodising layer of up to 5 microns.
Matt finishes are anodised up to 20 microns.
Powder-coated finishes have a layer of 100 microns.

Maintenance

Genesis NAS profiles do not require special maintenance. Oxidation films on aluminium may be removed with a common polishing agent but will reoccur. Damaged anodised finishes can only be repaired by re-coating.

Note: Aluminium is sensitive to alkaline substances. Exposure to alkali (depending on concentration and time of exposure) may result in corrosion (aluminium hydroxide formation). Adhesive or grout residue should be removed promptly. Ensure the profile is embedded in the setting material to prevent the collection of alkaline water.
