Boost stair safety with our durable GRP anti-slip stair nosings. Designed for long-term performance, these stair nosings are easy to install on both existing steps and new builds.

The tough, gritty surface provides excellent grip even in wet conditions, helping to reduce slips and trips in line with Equality Act (DDA) guidelines. Available in high-visibility colours and manufactured with a chamfered back edge, they’re ideal for areas with high footfall or public use.

Suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications, these nosings are made from corrosion-resistant GRP and can withstand a wide temperature range. They can be fixed using adhesive, screws, or a combination of both, and require minimal maintenance.

Perfect for steps in schools, hospitals, offices, and industrial sites.

Dimensions may vary by up to ±5mm in line with supplier manufacturing tolerances.

Installation Instructions

Preparation: Ensure the surface is clean, dry, and free from grease or debris. Patch repair any uneven or damaged areas before starting.
Dry fit first: Lay the nosings in place before applying adhesive or fixings to confirm fit and placement.
Cutting to size: Use a jigsaw with a tungsten carbide blade or an angle grinder with a diamond-tipped disc. Always cut in a well-ventilated area or outdoors and wear PPE.
Adhesive application: Apply FlexyFix adhesive in a 6mm bead around 25mm from the edges and in a zigzag pattern across the centre (approx. 200mm apart).
Mechanical fixing (optional but recommended for high traffic areas): Drill fixing holes 70mm from the front edge and 60mm from the back edge. Fixings should be spaced every 600mm.
Secure in place: Press the nosing down firmly into position. If using screws, ensure fixings are tight and add a small amount of sealant in each hole for a watertight seal.
Leave to cure: Allow adhesive to fully cure as per the manufacturer’s guidance before subjecting the area to foot traffic.

Where can these GRP stair nosings be installed?

They’re suitable for both indoor and outdoor use on existing or new steps—perfect for schools, offices, factories, or public walkways.

How are the nosings fixed into place?

You can install them using high-strength adhesive like FlexyFix, mechanical fixings like stainless steel screws, or both for a more secure fit.

What maintenance is required?

They’re virtually maintenance-free. In most cases, weather will keep them clean, but occasional brushing or a mild detergent wash can restore appearance.

Do they meet slip resistance and safety standards?

Yes, they’ve been tested to DIN 51130 - R13 and BS 7976-2 for low slip potential, and they comply with fire safety standards such as EN ISO 11925-2 and DIN 13501.
