EFU Co-Extruded Flexible Face Trim is ideal for use where a seamless finish is required between ceramic tiles and thin vinyl flooring (as thin as 2mm). This profile features a flexible top section that adjusts to flooring height and provides a tidy, practical solution for tile-to-vinyl transitions.

The EFU differs from the EVU, which has a solid face and no flexibility, making EFU the preferred option for vinyls that need to curve gently into a trim.

Made from high-grade co-extruded PVC, the EFU profile is supplied in 8mm depth and 2.5m lengths, making it perfect for tiled areas requiring soft flooring integration. See also: EVC profile for a rigid variant.

Cut the EFU profile to your desired length.
Lay adhesive and position the profile with the flexible face upwards, pressing firmly to ensure contact.
Apply adhesive through the flange holes and bed tiles as normal.
Push vinyl or soft flooring into the flexible top face ensuring a snug fit.
Seal with silicone if required to create a watertight edge.

What’s the difference between EVT, EVC and EFU profiles?

EVT and EVC are rigid profiles with slight differences in structure, while EFU has a flexible face suitable for thinner vinyl. EVC includes punch holes for tiling, EVT has a cavity for floor protection, and EFU is co-extruded with a flexible top.

Can I use these trims with thicker flooring?

Yes, for EVT, the weak points can be trimmed back to accommodate thicker floor coverings. For EFU and EVC, ensure floor thickness aligns with profile depth.

Do these need any special cleaning products?

No. Simply clean with a neutral detergent as needed. Avoid harsh solvents or chemicals that could affect the UPVC.

Are these trims suitable for underfloor heating?

They can be used near underfloor heating systems, but avoid temperatures above 60°C as prolonged exposure may affect the material's integrity.
